Egypt condemned Israel's signature of a declaration to expropriate 2,342 dunams (580 acres) in the Jordan Valley at the West Bank for settlement expansion.

The declaration was illegitimate and violates all international laws and conventions signed by the Palestinian and Israeli sides, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

Israeli practices undermine peace-reviving efforts and the enforcement of the two-state solution, the Egyptian spokesman said.

Imposing a fait accompli with the systematic seizure of Palestinian property and lands stirs tension among the Palestinian people, he said.
