Egyptian FM Sameh Shoukry

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry underlined the importance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's current Asian tour.

Sisi's Asian tour includes involves Singapore, China, and Indonesia.

In statements on the sidelines of Sisi's current visit to Singapore, Shoukry stressed the importance of these countries, adding that Egypt seeks to benefit from Singapore's successful experiment in fields of water, training, transferring containers and logistics services.

Singapore supports Egypt's bid to gain a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council, he said, adding that it supported Egypt during the June 30 Revolution.

There is great understanding between the two countries on the issues of mutual interest, he said.

Sisi was keen to embark on an Asian tour to affirm Egypt's important role in Southeast Asia and the world in general, he added.
