The Egyptian Foreign Ministry is following up the murder of an Egyptian national in Saudi Arabia on Monday, said Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Ambassador Hisham el Naqeeb on Tuesday.
He explained that Walid Hamdy, an Egyptian national, was beaten to death by Saudi nationals.
They also ran over him by their car, the Egyptian diplomat added.
The Egyptian consulate in Riyadh indicated that the three attackers, of the same family, were arrested and referred to investigation authorities, he noted.
The body of Hamdy is now kept in hospital in preparation for its transfer to Egypt, he added.
