Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has asserted that Egypt provides the base of stability in the Middle East.
In a press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Tokyo Monday, the Japanese prime minister praised Sisi's efforts to achieve democracy despite the complication of conditions in the region.
Abe said an agreement was reached with Egypt on increasing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education as the two sides agreed to establish a project for Egyptian-Japanese partnership in the field of education whereby Japan will receive 2,500 students and trainees over five years to improve education in Egypt.
He said efforts are underway with Japan's government and the private sector to modernize the industry sector through signing agreements on economic projects, expressing his country's keenness on extending support to Egypt.
On conditions in the region, the Japanese prime minister said the two sides agreed on the importance of achieving peace in the region and cooperate in all issues concerning the region.
