Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef praised on Sunday a stance taken by a committee of the US House of Representatives to label the Muslim Brotherhood as a "terrorist group".

This move reflects Egypt's foresight, Youssef said as he is accompanying President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in his current visit to Japan.

President Sisi believes that Daesh is not the only terrorist group which poses a threat to the world, he said.

Egypt strongly supports the Libyan legitimate government, Youssef stressed. 

Sisi arrived here on Sunday on the second leg of his Asian tour that started on Friday by a visit to Kazakhstan.

This is the first visit by an Egyptian leader to Japan since 1999.

Sisi's next leg is South Korea.

In Japan, Sisi will meet with Emperor of Japan Akihito, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Japanese MP Yuriko Koike and the head of the Japan-Egypt Parliamentary Friendship Association.

He will deliver on Monday a speech before the Japanese parliament in the presence of the emperor and the prime minister.

He will open on Wednesday the Egyptian-Japanese economic forum and attend the signing of many cooperation agreements and memos of understanding on developing Borg el Arab airport and setting up a solar power station.
