Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel Aati said on Wednesday that the ministry is following up the abduction of several Egyptians in the Libyan city of Sirte.
In press statements, he added that an operations room that was set up by the consular sector of the ministry is closely following up the issue.
He added coordination is being maintained with all official authorities concerned in Egypt and Libya.
The Egyptian ambassador to Libya is contacting the Libyan officials and tribes chieftains to rescue the abducted Egyptians, added the spokesman.
