Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmi said that Egypt sought during its participation in the climate change conference in Paris to reach a binding agreement on the climate change meeting the rights of all parties and reducing the effects of gas emission in Africa.

A statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday quoted the minister as saying that Egypt's national plan to the conference included 13 items, the most important of which was a commitment by the advanced countries to support developing countries in the so-called the "Green Climate Fund" and that developing countries will have to request financing environment adaptation projects.

According to the statement, minister Fahmi said that Egypt also sought during the conference to strike a balance among the basic principles of the climate change agreement to help the African countries overcome environment problems.

Representatives from more than 150 nations attended the Paris climate change conference under heavy security after the Nov. 13 attacks in the French capital.
