Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted on Saturday that Cairo spares no effort to find a way out of the Syrian crisis and keep the Arab country united.
The top diplomat made the remarks following a meeting with representatives of the Syrian opposition.
The Foreign Ministry has invited Syrian opposition groups to Cairo as first step to identify different views adopted by the groups, Shoukry said.
Also, Shoukry mourned the death of Saudi King Abdallah ben Abdel Aziz who passed away early on Friday.
