Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Tuesday that the visions of Egypt and Sudan regarding the regional challenges are identical.
"Egypt's stability means the stability of Sudan," Shoukry assured in statements to MENA following his meeting with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in Khartoum.
He pointed out to the ongoing efforts to activate the agreements between Egypt and Sudan to achieve the welfare and progress for the Sudanese and Egyptians at all levels.
The top diplomat said that the meeting was a chance to listen to the Sudanese president's vision on the regional issues and challenges which should be faced by joint action.
Shoukry stressed that he reaffirmed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's invitation to his Sudanese counterpart to attend Sharm el Sheikh economic conference slated for this month as well as the coming Arab summit.
"The Egyptian-Sudanese relations have been witnessing interaction and consensus over several issues," he said.
He added that a meeting of the high joint committee will be held in Cairo at the presidential level for the first time and that preparations are underway.
The meeting also tackled the Libyan crisis, threats posed by terrorism, relations between the Nile Basin countries and ways of supporting the Arab African relations, Shoukry said.
"There is full consensus over the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Libya," he asserted.
As for the meetings of the foreign and irrigation ministers of the Nile Basin countries, he said that they are aimed at drawing up a framework through which the interests of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia could be achieved.
