Egypt, Switzerlands cooperate to retrieve looted funds

Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber on Saturday said that there is a close cooperation between judicial bodies in Egypt and Switzerland regarding Egyptian funds frozen in Swiss banks.

Lauber, currently on a visit to Egypt, said that he has submitted 30 requests to the Egyptian authorities asking for legal assistance regarding the sources of the funds.

In a press conference held in the Egyptian capital, Lauber said that the Swiss law requires identifying whether such frozen money are outcome of illegal transactions or not.
