Egypt pays great attention to King Salman bin Abdulaziz's visit who will arrive in Cairo on Thursday.

The monarch's stances on Egypt and its people are appreciated and honorable, said Alaa Youssef, the presidential spokesman.

Egypt's leadership and people highly welcome the Saudi king, he said. The trip asserts the deeply-rooted relations between Cairo and Riyadh, he said.

The Saudi king's visit to Egypt is the first of its kind since he took power.

The five-day visit also comes at a critical stage in which the region witnesses serious challenges, according to the spokesman.

"It asserts the importance of intensive cooperation and coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia," said the spokesman.
