Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Mohamed el Badri said the new Suez Canal project is considered a remarkable achievement for the political leadership and the Egyptians.

In statements to MENA, Badri said the project will strengthen geostrategy and geopolitics for Egypt, pointing out that the project is fully financed and run by Egypt and that will reflect the Egyptian people's confidence in the project.

He said the Russian side is interested in the new project which, he said, will give an impetus to the economy, attract more investors and provide job opportunities for Egyptians.
