Cairo - Arab Today
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed on Thursday that relations between Egypt and the US are moving on the right track and that the coming period would witness more joint moves at all levels.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid told diplomatic reporters that relations between the two countries are progressing day after day, citing strategic dialogue between them, military aid and mutual visits over the past period, the latest of which was a visit by a US congressional delegation to Egypt.
He also cited ongoing contacts between Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his US counterpart John Kerry over regional files.
But still there are some points of disagreement between the two sides, especially those related to the human rights and democratic transition files, he added.
"In general, the Egyptian-US relations are on the right track," he said.
