The Egyptian army is the main pillar of protecting Arab national security, Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi affirmed to Egypt's Justice Minister Ahmed el Zend during a meeting held here on Thursday.
In statements to MENA following his meeting with the Tunisian president, Zend said that Essebsi underlined the close ties binding Egypt and Tunisia in light of the continued consultation and coordination between the leaderships and the governments of the two countries.
The Tunisian president also appreciated Egypt and its Armed Forces, which represent main pillar to protect Arab national security, he added.
Essebsi also voiced concern over the repeated terrorist acts in several Middle East countries, Zend said, adding that the Tunisian president affirmed support to Egypt's efforts to uproot terrorism.
Zend also said that the Tunisian president welcomed Egypt's hosting of the Arab forum to recover looted funds, which will be held in Sharm el Shiekh in December, 2016.
The Tunisian president also hailed Egypt's proposal to establish a mechanism for cooperation between Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq and Libya in order to coordinate stances among those countries before the Western countries, which have the looted funds, he added.
