Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar on Friday praised the "new victory" achieved by the Armed Forces in Sinai in fighting terrorism.

"Our brave Armed Forces proved to the world that Egypt will remain a thorn in the throat of terrorists," the minister said in a statement

The minister said militants and extremist groups pose an immense threat to "individuals and communities."
