Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Bahraini counterpart Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed al Khalifa co-chaired on Tuesday the Egyptian-Bahraini committee meeting held at the foreign ministry's headquarters.

Preparatory meetings for the committee were held on Saturday under the co-chairmanship of Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Tareq Adel and Bahraini Undersecretary of Regional & GCC Affairs Waheed Mubarak Sayyar.

Nearly 15 cooperation agreements and memorandum of understanding are to be signed between the two sides in the agriculture, health and media fields.

During the committee's meetings, the two sides agreed on setting up a new mechanism for political consultations between the two countries.
