The cabinet held a meeting on Wednesday under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to discuss a number of political, economic and security files.

The cabinet is scheduled to approve the executive statutes of the economic draft laws, preparations for elections and the opening ceremony of the New Suez Canal set for August 6.

The cabinet also reviewed the security situation and directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the various fields.
