The cabinet held its weekly meeting Thursday under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.

The get-together took up the political, economic and security files as well as means of combating terrorism.

The cabinet discussed also the latest regional and international developments and the outcome of Mahlab's three-day visit to France.

The government probed security conditions and Egypt's foreign policy in light of the premier's visit to Paris and the foreign minister's visits to number of countries.

The cabinet tackled a report about the presence of the basic needs to the citizen before the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
