The Cabinet under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab approved a bill toughening up some articles of the penal code regarding the possession of explosives and not reporting them to the authorities.

Anyone who conceals information about a crime pertaining to the possession of explosive materials will be punished with a prison term not less than one year and a fine between EGP 20,000 and 100,000, the new bill rules.
