A committee in charge of amending election laws reached an initial agreement with the State Council's legislative department to reduce the number of constituencies to 205 instead of 206, the minister of transitional justice and parliamentary affairs said on Monday.

Ibrahim el Heneidi, who chairs the committee, made the remarks to parliamentary reporters following a meeting of the State's Council's legislation department.

The number of seats will remain 448 for the individuals and 120 for the lists, he said.

Heneidi pointed out that he will notify the Cabinet of the initial agreement to the amendments.
