Egypt has reiterated that Gulf security is a red line for Egypt's national security.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry said the security of the Gulf region is a red line for Egypt.
The statement said Egypt has been following the latest developments in the Arab region with great concern, noting that serious challenges are currently threatening the whole Arab nation and even the presence of the Arab countries in view of the instability of the political and security conditions in several countries and the increasing risks of terrorism.
The statement said Egypt, emanating from its historical responsibility towards the Arab nation, reiterated that Gulf security is an integral part of the Gulf region's security.
The statement also affirmed that Cairo will continue close coordination with its Arab fellows to stand against existing challenges and risks and maintain the Arab national security, especially that of the Gulf region.
