Cairo - MENA
Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali said on Saturday that coordination will be made with the Justice Ministry to allocate a department at a Giza court to issue legacy notification statements for the families of the victims of a sunken Nile boat.
At least 35 people, including 20 children, were killed when a passenger boat traveling down the Nile near Warraq, Giza governorate, collided with a barge, causing the boat to smash and capsize late Wednesday.
The death toll could rise as rescue workers are still recovering bodies out of the Nile.
The accident left four others injured.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has ordered the disbursal of 60,000 pounds for each family of the deceased and 10,000 pounds for each injured.
