Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar ordered putting all police sectors on high alert to secure Eidul Fitr celebrations on Friday.

The interior minister instructed security officials to step up forces in all vital institutions and police locations and deploy rapid intervention groups in main squares to counter any criminal bids strictly, a security source told MENA.

Also, bomb disposal squads were stationed around embassies, shopping malls, parks, cinemas and theaters, and female officers were deployed to fight sexual harassment in downtown Cairo, the source added.
