The Ministry of Interior mourned on Saturday the death of two policemen who were shot dead in El Arish city of North Sinai earlier in the day.

In a statement, the ministry said the two officers were off duty and killed in two separate attacks.

The first officer, identified as Rafiq Ezzat, was gunned down in front of his daughter's school by gunmen driving a car.

Another officer, Mohamed Abdel Hafiz, was killed by the same assailants earlier in the day.

A manhunt was launched for the assailants.
