Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil over the developments in Syria, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a press release late on Saturday.

The meeting, that took place on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting held on Syria in Vienna, also covered Egyptian-Lebanese cooperation.

Shoukry reiterated Egypt's keenness on boosting the stability and security of Lebanon.

He added that he intends to visit Lebanon soon to continue consultations with Lebanese government officials over the formation of a national unity government
