Supply Minister Khaled Henfi

Supply Minister Khaled Henfi warned on Monday citizens against buying foodstuffs or any other goods from street vendors, saying they are all expired and of unknown origin.

These products do not conform to the necessary specifications and harm public safety, he said in statements.

Citizens should, instead, buy these products from shops and take care of their validity date, the minister said.

Any complaints should be reported through the ministry's hotline "19280", he said.

He added that invalid products, including 32 tons of foodstuffs, 19,000 bags of crackers and 90,000 mineral water bottles and juices were seized over the past period during a crackdown on public markets and shops.
