Egyptian navy formations arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Monday to take part in the "Khalifa 2" drill.

A statement issued by the Armed Forces said the exercise represents one of the most important and biggest drills in the Gulf region as it tackles combat activities as well as means to exchange military expertise through the use of the most up-to-date naval combat technology.

According to the statement, the exercise affirms the depth of historical relations between the two countries.
