Prime Minister Sherif Ismail discussed on Sunday with Local Development Minister Ahmed Zaki Badr the ministry's work plan during the coming period.
The discussion came during a meeting, attended by a number of the local development ministry's leaders, held between the Premier and the minister, the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting touched on the steps to develop the domestic management, including the completion of the democratic structure, applying decentralization system and the issuance of the local administration law, according to the statement.
Also, they talked about the issue of selecting the localities' board members nationwide by vote, the methods to back the local economic development and the operating system as well as providing job opportunities for youth and achieving social justice, the statement added.
During the gathering, they tackled the ministry's efforts to attain the economic and social development domestically and offer excellent services to citizens nationwide in collaboration with the ministries concerned and governorates.
Furthermore, they took up ways to turn the Egyptian villages into productive ones and provide opportunities for small producers to promote and export their products, the statement read.
Preparing detailed layouts for Egypt's villages and cities and removing encroachments on state-owned lands were also discussed.
They discussed the state's efforts to control the market and face the price hike, the statement stressed.
