Cairo - MENA
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab highlighted Monday the importance of law enforcement, so that every Egyptian citizen feels safe.
Law enforcement is a cornerstone for the success of all government entities, Mahlab reaffirmed during a meeting with the Council of Governors, also attended by a number of ministers.
The prime minister gave that all governorates and police directorates should coordinate as regards the New Suez Canal celebrations.
Mahlab said the meeting dwelt on many topics and highlighted the necessity to solve all daily problems facing Egyptian citizens, provide better services and follow up the implementation of service and development projects in each governorate.
A governor with all other officials should maintain daily field tours to get posted on any emerging problem and start to solve them, said Mahlab. This is their responsibility and duty, he added.
The prime minister also reaffirmed that the Ministry of the Interior should improve all services.
Water and sanitation projects are now high on the agenda of the government and needed finances will be allocated as soon as possible to finalize all projects in this sector, Mahlab said.
Meanwhile, he highlighted the importance of developing a model hospital in each governorate, in coordination with the Health Ministry.
