Prime Minister Sherif Ismail praised Monday the relations between China and Egypt that witnessed a great impetus over the past period.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited China in 2014 and 2015, he said, adding that the two visits aimed to develop bilateral ties to reach a strategic partnership.

The prime minister also welcomed a visit to be paid by the Chinese president to Egypt early next year.

Speaking at a meeting with the Chinese ambassador in Cairo, Ismail highlighted the importance of speeding up the steps in the technical and financial issues relevant to a number of joint projects to be signed and give a push to the economic march of Egypt.

He also hoped that more Chinese companies take part in the national projects especially in the Suez Canal Development projects.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador said his country supports Egypt in countering terror.

He also praised the cooperation and friendship ties between the two countries.

He expounded a number of proposed Chinese projects in Egypt that will be signed during the visit by the Chinese President to Egypt.

The ambassador highlighted the importance of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) due to be held in Johannesburg on December 4 and 5.

Egypt's high-level participation in the summit will give it reason to succeed, the ambassador concluded.
