Six people were arrested on Tuesday over charges of setting fire to the branches of Emirates NBD and KFC restaurant in Giza, read a statement by the Interior Ministry.
According to a police report, the six detainees, who are members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group, confessed to the crimes saying they used shotguns, stones and petrol bombs to attack the bank and restaurant branches on February 2.
They guided the security forces to other perpetrators. The statement said police are on the hunt of the accused.
Meantime, investigations revealed also identity of three others who were arrested having injuries sustained during fire attack on Mobinil mobile operator's outlet in Giza, the statement said.
One of the attackers was reported dead of severe burns he got during the attack, the statement added.
The detainees have also confessed to the crime.
According to the statement, a number of rioters were nabbed over burning other bank's branches and making home made bombs during wide scale crackdowns.
