A public prosecution team started examining the blast scene outside the Italian consulate in downtown Cairo on Saturday.

Crime lab experts will analyze explosive residues from the scene to determine the materials used in the bomb.

The team also listed the surveillance cameras in the area to examine the captured footage.

They questioned eyewitnesses about the explosion as another team of investigators will head to hospital to see the victims.

The explosion left one person dead and nine others injured according to official reports.
