The director of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute has tendered her resignation, said Scientific Research Minister Sherif Hamad.

The resignation followed a surprise visit by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab who discovered negligence in services provided by the institute.

Hamad said, following a meeting with the director, that the body's board will be reshuffled.

The change will improve the institute's services.
