The Egyptian-Saudi consultations on Thursday showed the depth of relations between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Atti said.

The consultations were held between Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Saudi counterpart Adel al Jubeir.

Shoukry also met with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Nayef.

The coordination and cooperation between the two nations protects the Arab national security, Abdel Atti underscored.

The meetings took up means of boosting joint cooperation in various fields as well as regional issues such as conditions in Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq and Libya.

The consultations reflected understanding between Cairo and Riyadh, the spokesman noted, saying that it was agreed to continue such consultations periodically for the best interests of the two countries.
