Prosecutor General Nabil Ahmed Sadek and a number of the public prosecution's officials held talks with Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber and his accompanying delegation visiting Cairo to discuss a number of files including the retrieval of looted public funds including former president Hosni Mubarak's regime frozen funds.

In a press release, the public prosecution said the two sides held positive talks to reach atypical solutions in light of the laws applied in the two countries.

They also agreed to resume talks in a new round in which the Swiss side urged its Egyptian counterpart to visit Switzerland to hold.

The initial estimates by the Swiss government said that the total amount of frozen assets in Swiss banks is CHF 650 million, or nearly $698 million (EGP5 billion).

Meanwhile, they discussed fostering bilateral ties in the judicial field.
