Egypt’s membership at the United Nations Security Council has strong and effective reflections on different Arab issues, including the Palestinian cause, senior leader at the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine Khedr Adnan said.

Egypt is an influential country not only at the Arab level but the international one as well, Adnan told MENA correspondent here.

He called on Cairo to exert its utmost at international arenas to support the Palestinian cause.

He urged Egypt to intervene and push the Israeli authorities to release Palestinian journalist Muhammad al Qiq, who has been on a hunger strike over 75 days now in Israeli custody, before he perishes.
