Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Wednesday said that the Egyptian people don’t accept questioning of the impartiality of the Egyptian judiciary and judges.
During a press conference with with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz, Shoukry asserted that the Egyptian Judges assume a main role in protecting the the country’s stability.
The judges are held in high esteem by the Egyptian people, Shoukry said.
Commenting on European and American reactions on death sentences against the ousted president Mohamed Morsi and a number of his supporters, Shoukry said the verdicts were made by a competent judicial authority in accordance with fixed legal rules.
The Egyptian judiciary is neutral, credible and committed to enforcing laws, the Egyptian top official said, pointing out that the differences between the systems of law in Egypt and other countries should be respected.
He stressed the need to respect the principles of non-interference of any country in the internal affairs of other countries.
