Egypt's Ambassador in Baghdad Ahmed Darwish

Egypt's Ambassador in Baghdad Ahmed Darwish has regretted the assassination of prosecutor general Hesham Barakat and recent attacks in North Sinai which left 17 soldiers dead.

There is no difference between Beit al Maqdes and Daesh, Darwish said in statements to MENA, stressing both adopt the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.

Those groups are two sides of the same coin, Darwish said. All terrorist groups do not accept and act to isolate the other, the diplomat charged.

Those are not Muslims, Darwish said, stressing that their goal is to harm countries and defame Islam.

Daesh, al Nusra Front, Beit al Maqdas and the Muslim Brotherhood have harmed Islam as no other ever did, the diplomat said.

Their actions are no different than what terrorists did in Europe and America and what is currently going on in Tunisia, Libya, Iraq and in Sinai, Darwish noted.
