Arab delegations participating in the preparatory meetings of the 33rd session of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council tackled on Sunday Egypt's outstanding expertise in fighting terrorism.

The Egyptian delegation was keen on briefing Arab interior ministers on the plant outlined by Egyptian Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to wipe out terrorism in Egypt.

The plan is based on launching proactive crackdowns to foil terrorist attacks, and intensifying security campaigns to arrest outlaws hired by the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, the delegation members said.

The preparatory meetings of the 33rd session of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council kicked off earlier in the day.

The two-day session will begin on Monday under Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.

The event will be attended by several Arab interior ministers, high-level security delegations as well as representatives of the Arab League (AL) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

A well-informed source told MENA correspondent here that the preparatory meetings took up solidarity among Arab countries, promoting cooperation among them to combat terrorism as well as the need to monitor borders to limit and curb smuggling weapons.

The source said also that the meetings tackled the session's agenda to prepare a draft resolution to be submitted to the Arab Interior Ministers' Council for ratification.

The source underlined that the most important issues included fighting terrorism, combating drugs and weapons trafficking as well as protecting human rights.
