Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa accepted the resignation of Awqaf Authority Chairman Salah Genaidy.
The minister told MENA he would consult with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and the Economic group's ministers to nominate the new chairman within two weeks.
Awqaf authority Director General Samir el-Shal replaced Genaidy until the successor is named, the minister added.
