Minister of Defense and Military Production Sedqi Sobhi attended on Sunday the main phase of a military drill carried out by a unit of the Second Field Army.

The drill comes as part of an annual plan to train Egyptian servicemen and improve their fighting skills.

Sobhi praised the level of performance and training shown by the Egyptian military personnel.

The Egyptian army is capable of facing any threat to Egypt’s national security, he said.

He further praised efforts exerted by the Egyptian servicemen to secure the Suez Canal waterway and fight terrorism in Sinai.

The drill was attended by a number of the top brass.
