Cairo - MENA
The Foreign Ministry will hold an expanded meeting to follow up conditions of Egyptians in Yemen Wednesday.
The meeting comes in light of the latest developments in the Arab country.
The consular section at the Foreign Ministry is regularly following up the conditions of nationals in Yemen through a 24/7 operations room.
The Foreign Ministry has urged Egyptians in Yemen to stay away from areas of clashes as much as possible.
It has made it clear that Egyptians wishing to return home can use the land routes, if safe, to the borders of Saudi Arabia or Oman, especially now that all flights to Yemen have been suspended.
The Egyptian authorities are coordinating efforts with Oman and Saudi Arabia to facilitate the return of Egyptians in Yemen.
A consular team will be dispatched to the border areas between Yemen and each of Saudi Arabia and Oman if necessary.
Sameh Shoukry, the Foreign Minister, will, as of today, be also following up conditions of Egyptian sailors at Aden Port.
The top diplomat had received a telephone call from an Egyptian sailors crew in Aden during his participation in the third donors conference to support the humanitarian situation in Syria, asking for help to return home.
Shoukry was quick to inform the national authorities concerned to start acting to provide necessary help.
