Minister of Interior Mohamad Ibrahim has given instructions to tighten security measures around churches ahead of the Christmas and the New Year's Eve.
The minister's directions came in a field visit to a number of churches, squares and main streets of Cairo and Giza governorates.
Ibrahim ordered the deployed forces to directly and strictly deal with any attempt to violate laws.
