Vice President of Egypt's National Movement Party Yahia Qadri said Saturday the party's supreme body would convene Monday to discuss the resignation of chief of the part Ahmed Shafiq.

The party received a resignation letter of Shafiq and the supreme body would vote on it, Qadri told MENA.

"I will call the supreme body's members to refuse the resignation," he said.
