Egypt's Nour party

The Salafist Nour Party will run in the parliamentary elections under two lists instead of four.

The measure is meant to entrench the principle of partnership among national powers, the party said in a statement issued Wednesday evening.

The party was planning to run in the elections under four lists in response to policies meant to ostracize it, but it changed its position in view of the difficult conditions the state is facing.

The party always seeks to adopt stands that serve national interests, the statement said, citing the party's participation in writing down the constitution, the referendum on it as well as the presidential elections.

Parliamentary elections were previously scheduled to take place in March, but were suspended by the Supreme Constitutional Court due to the unconstitutionality of parliamentary laws.

The polls, in October and November, will mark the third and final step of the road map, which was outlined on July 3, 213, following the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi.
