The Emirates Human Rights Association (Ehra) marked the UN Human Rights Day with a parade under the slogan 'My Rights 365,' which encompasses the idea that every day is a Human Rights Day.
A large number of Emiratis and expatriates, in cars adorned with words and slogans upholding human rights, participated in the parade conducted between Al Mamzar area in Dubai and Al Majaz area in Sharjah.
The parade featured competitions and drawing activities that allowed children to express their views on human rights.
The parade was organised in collaboration with Group32, a Dubai-based group of racecar enthusiasts.
The UN General Assembly proclaimed 10 December as Human Rights Day in 1950 to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world' the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.
This year's slogan, Human Rights 365, celebrates the fundamental proposition in the Universal Declaration that each one of us, everywhere, at all times, is entitled to the full range of human rights, that human rights belong equally to each of us and bind us together as a global community with the same ideals and values.
