Addis Ababa - MENA
Dina Mufti, spokesperson for Ethiopia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed the importance of the expected talks between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Ethiopia's Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn later this week on the sidelines of the African summit.
Mufti told MENA the meeting will not only help boost ties between both countries but also it will prove African nations can solve their own problems.
Such meetings will help boost Africans' confidence in their dealing with the rest of the world, she said, adding Ethiopia is hoping Sisi to visit it in March again or after his participation in the African Union summit to be held on Friday and Saturday.
During their previous meetings, Sisi and Desalegn have called for enhancing bilateral ties, the spokesperson said.
