Head of European Union Delegation to Egypt James Moran said Sunday delegations of the European Parliament and the members of the EU Member States's parliaments would visit Egypt after sessions of the country's House of Representatives kick off.

In a press conference, Moran said many European MPs wanted to understand situation in Egypt during the past few years and they could not do so in the absence of a parliament.

We look forward with the Egyptian government next year to further cooperation and continuity in planning for the future, Moran said.

The EU ambassador considered a UK report on the Muslim Brotherhood group a British and not European matter, and refused to comment on it.

As part of our programs with Egypt, we finance Human rights associations in cooperation with the Egyptian authorities, and are usually funded directly under Egyptian laws, Moran said.

He urged the Egyptian authorities to amend the law of civil society organizations for better consistent with the international standards.
