Egypt’s Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar has authorized an exceptional visit for each prisoner as of next Sunday and until August 4 on the 64th anniversary of the July 23 revolution.

Th visit, which will not be counted among designated visits for prisoners, is meant to give inmates a chance to celebrate the national occasion with their families.

The exceptional visit falls within the framework of the ministry's keenness on respecting human rights values, as well as applying modern punishment policies.
