Attorney General Adel Ezzat has ordered an expanded and quick probe into the death of an Egyptian citizen inside Luxor Police Station.

Talaat Shubaib, 47, was reported dead Wednesday, only 30 minutes after he had been arrested.

Shubaib had been taken from a coffee shop in the Upper Egyptian city in the wee hours of Wednesday, before his family was informed that he was moved to Luxor International Hospital.

Shubaib had already died before reaching the hospital.

A working team was immediately formed to follow up the incident.
